Design, Creation, and Development

Franz Fischnaller’s practice encompasses the design, creation, and development of advanced immersive media systems. His work integrates Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), Digital Reality, and Extended Reality (XR) with immersive stereoscopic technologies, ultra-high-resolution visualization, and real-time simulation. He specializes in the conception and production of interactive environments, tools, and systems for high-performance stereoscopic VR and real-time immersive applications.

Interaction Design and Real-Time Systems

His expertise includes interaction design, real-time interactive systems (RIS), and the development of interactive tools, interfaces, and workflows. This work spans the full spectrum of interactive media: conceptualization, design, prototyping, and implementation of immersive techniques, interaction principles, and advanced user-experience methodologies.

Visual Art, Digital Media, and Narrative Design

Fischnaller’s visual practice bridges classical art and new media. It includes advanced 2D/3D visualization, digital aesthetics, digital narrative and storytelling, script and storyboard development, interactive installations, exhibit design, creative interfaces, and high-resolution digital media production. His work extends to gigapixel visualization, ultra-high-resolution 4K–8K stereoscopic environments, 3D point-cloud rendering, 360° video, VR simulations, interactive video, special effects, optical illusions, and immersive exhibit design.

He works across on-stage, online, streaming, and hybrid formats, producing interactive and non-interactive immersive experiences.

Digital Graphics, Animation, and Holography

His technical practice includes 2D/3D computer graphics, digital animation, visual effects, holography, hologram installations, programming, and 3D modeling. These capabilities support the creation of complex immersive environments and high-resolution digital cultural works.

Current Focus and Practice

Fischnaller’s current work centers on Extended Reality (XR), including Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), Mixed Reality (MR), and AI-enhanced immersive systems. His research engages Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, the Internet of Things (IoT), AI avatars, digital humans, virtual beings, and holographic interfaces.

He develops AI/XR immersive mixed-reality experiences and exhibits featuring real-time avatars and digital performers. His practice includes holographic interactive presentations and performances choreographed across physical and virtual architectures; immersive AI/XR scenography; telepresence with real-time AI/XR avatars; and experimental digital narrative systems within holographic graphical user interfaces.

His work extends to trans-media environments, interactive digital architectures, augmented immersive holographic works, and metaverse-oriented projects.
